Hello there fellow gamers. Have you been following the latest handheld console of Nintendo? You probably heard a lot of doom and gloom prophecy floating around about the 3DS, but look at it now. The 3DS is now the top selling handheld console in history, even surpassing the greatness of the Gameboy Color. Yeah! Fanboys will whine once again and say that the “3DS has no games.” To kill that yapping and whining here’s Kid Icarus Uprising. Kid Icarus Uprising is the third installment in the Kid Icarus series. It has been around nineteen years already since the first Kid Icarus game was released, so long time Kid Icarus fans will surely be delighted that a third game is coming out for the Nintendo 3DS. The game was developed by Team Sora, so expect that the game will be of high quality.
In Kid Icarus Uprising you take the role of Pit, who is basically an angel armed with many dangerous weapons. It is a fast-paced action adventure game. Each chapter of the game is either an air or land combat. The air combat is basically an on-rails shooting while flying deal (you can dodge and shoot enemies while on the wing). On the other hand, you have land combats which also involves dodging and attacking enemies, but with added control as you can now traverse the level and not be limited to on-rails shooting. You can either use melee or long-range weapons to clear up the chapters. You can choose from weapons such as bow, claws, blades and many more. You should develop familiarity with the weapons though, as they have their own advantages and disadvantages. As you progress, you will be able to unlock new and more powerful weapons that you can use to defeat the bosses.
Kid Icarus Uprising also offers an added challenge, because you can now increase the difficulty or the “intensity” of the game by collecting hearts from defeated enemies. This is sure to be a popular feature, and if this is not enough to win you over, Kid Icarus Uprising features online multi-player besides the single player story mode. The multi-player supports both local and via Wi-Fi. The multi-player supports up to six players with game mode options such as Team Deathmatch and Free-For-Alls. Still not convinced? Let us not forget the little additions such as the AR cards which allow players to play exciting mini games. Kid Icarus Uprising is set to release on March 23, 2012 and the game comes bundled with a 3DS stand accessory which will make long gaming sessions comfortable. The game also supports the Circle Pad Pro which is said to improve the controls. There you have it, another 3DS game worth owning.
